Land Acknowledgements

As a life-long Canadian, I have always lived on stolen land. I want to make a particular point to highlight some of the incredible resources that have been generously created and provided by Indigenous Peoples freely to help people like me better understand the impact of that history and what I can do about it going forward.

I was born, grew up, and currently live in areas where the primary language has historically been Halq’eméylem and closely related variations of it. You can learn more about this language, including how to speak some words and phrases here.
